Thanks for checking us out! Co-founders Seth and Jessie started this business in July 2011, as table vendors at the Seaport Farmers' Market on weekends. Our first products were dehydrated kale chips, and raw granola bars. Within a year we had grown our product selection, and moved into a permanent storefront kitchen at the farmers' market, open 7 days a week, with the addition of fresh meals, salads and smoothies on the menu.
In February 2019 we opened the doors at our current location in the North End, as a full service vegan restaurant. Everything was going so well... and then in March 2020 the pandemic hit, and a long year of lockdowns put everything on hold. We decided we needed to adapt our business model, in order to brave the pandemic and meet the changing needs of our customers.
So, things look a little different around here now! We transformed our restaurant into Halifax’s first plant-based grocery market. We still serve full meals from the menu, though our dining room is a little smaller now to make room for the grocery section. We've got pantry staples, fresh produce, local coffee, body care, supplements, frozen meals, bread products, dairy-free cheese, ice cream, deli salads, and more. We've got all the essentials, plus lots of vegan treats and specialty items that are hard to find elsewhere.
You can dine-in with us, or take a meal to-go. Our menu consists of healthy comfort foods, with fresh and bold flavours. The meals are large and satisfying for vegans and omnivores alike. Be sure to check out our menu page to see our full selection!
